Gordie and his friends had a new adventure. While they were going to see a dead boy, they had to pass the bridge. The bridge was made of wood, it had a narrow walkway,so if the train came on it, the train would hit people in there. And people would drop in the river. The river was shallow and fast. DANGEROUS! So they felt fear, while they were going to on bridge.
Nobody knew when the next train's due. Teddy thought, they could cross the bridge in ten minutes. Chris and Teddy went to together, Gordie and Vern went to together. Gordie and Vern was back then another on the bridge. Suddenly Gordie felt some sound. He touched the track. They could hear and see the train's sound on the bridge. Gordie jumped to his feet, but Vern didn't run. He tought he would fall. But Gordie didn't get out of him. And they started to run fast. They were jumped. They landed in the dust.
